What Would You Do?

18 May 2010 74 views No Comment Written by Patrick Kuhlers

“If you werent afraid of death, or failure, or if you weren’t afraid of rejection, if you were not afraid of humiliation, if you were not afraid of what other people thought about you, if you were not afraid of anything, what would you be doing? What would you do with your life?” – Erwin Mcmanus

This quote just screams out vulnerability and community to me. I know for myself there are times I am afraid to admit my fears or insecurities, but being able to answer the questions honestly found in the quote has to be a step in the direction of living in true Freedom. There are so many expectations out there on each one of us to be a certain person or to do a certain thing, and not all of those are necessarily bad, but it is so easy for me to submit to the expectations of man. I will go through seasons of life where I pursue the expectations and not relationship with the Father. I leave those seasons feeling confused and hopeless and I know those aren’t from God.

My point is this, maybe it is time to dream again, maybe it is time to take all expectations from man and push them aside and just dream from your heart. What would you do? Would you take a trip with you wife you always wanted to do? Would you write a book? Play music? Learn how to paint? Be a firefighter? So this is question for today with no expectations allowed, If you weren’t afraid of anything, what is your heart screaming to do?
